Shri B.K. Chaturvedi ( IAS, Retd.), Chairperson

Shri B.K. Chaturvedi (IAS, Rtd) is an eminent Indian Civil Servant who has risen to the highest position in the Civil Service as the Cabinet Secretary and has made major contributions in policy making and its implementation. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan on 7th April, 2010 by the President of India for his outstanding contributions in the field of civil service. In recognition of his work in the field of Public Administration, Shri Chaturvedi was conferred with Honoris Causa (D.Sc.) by Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad (Jharkhand) on 5th April, 2012.Currently, Shri Chaturvedi is serving as Member, Planning Commission of India and heads Energy and Transport division in the Planning Commission. He is responsible for addressing policy issues concerning power, petroleum, railways, road, road transport, shipping ports, inland water transport and civil aviation for improving efficiency and making these sectors more responsive to the present and future requirement of India. Earlier Shri B.K. Chaturvedi was appointed Member of the 13th Finance Commission (Nov. 2007). As Cabinet Secretary, he was also Member of the Atomic Energy Commission and Space Commission of India. Shri Chaturvedi has written several papers in the field of public administration and governance. He has travelled extensively and represented India in international fora, including Boards of UNICEF and UNDP.

Mr. Rahul Singh,Chairperson, SMC DPS Sangrur

Rahul Singh is largely known for being the son of a highly accomplished and versatile person Mr Khushwant Singh. A Cambridge-educated did his Tripos in history from King’s College London. At 23yrs he became the youngest Assistant Editor of The Times of India, the most highly-circulated English daily of the subcontinent. He worked in that capacity for five years before he took over as the founding editor of the Indian edition of Readers’ Digest, a position he held with distinction for 11 years. He reverted to mainstream journalism when he edited such important newspapers as the Indian Express and Khaleej Times.

In 1991, he gave up journalism to accept a proposal from the UNESCO to write a research-based book on his favourite subject – population. This took him to eight developing countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America, where population control programmes were conducted with amazing success.

In 1994, his book Family Planning Success Stories was released. Subsequently, his engagement with Earth Times in New York gave him global exposure to issues concerning population, women, racism and food. He is currently an active supporter of an NGO that works for women’s empowerment.

Has won the Best teacher award in Maharashtra and Goa zone and is very well versed with online platforms. She has worked with students of different age groups and backgrounds in some of the top schools in the country. Having led an army school in the capacity of a principal, she very well understands the discipline, foresight and teamwork needed in leadership roles.

Throughout Ms Jaiswal's illustrious career, she has demonstrated unwavering commitment to fostering a nurturing learning environment, dedicated to both academic excellence and holistic development. With a visionary leadership style, she has successfully steered the school towards happy and healthy place, ensuring that every student receives a well-rounded education.
